Urban Household Food Consumption Surveys Were Conducted in Three Cities in July

In the summer of 2011, Dr. Junfei Bai and his research team conducted a large-scale household survey on urban consumers’ food consumption in Xi’an (Shaanxi province), Xiamen (Fujian province), and Shenyang (Liaoning province). 750 randomly selected households from these cities were asked to record their food consumption and related information for seven days in row. These surveys provide critical database for comprehensively analyzing food consumption structure, trends and driving-forces. The Department of Urban Surveys at the National Bureau of Statistics of China provided critical assistance for these surveys.
