Prof. Junjie Wu from Oregon State University visited CCAP

Prof. Junjie Wu from Oregon State University visited center for Chinese Agricultural Policy (CCAP), Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 23, 2012. Professor Jikun Huang, Director of CCAP, gave welcoming remarks. Prof. Wu was welcomed to deliver a lecture to the faculty and students on “How High Gas Prices Triggered the Housing Crisis in the United States: Theory and Empirical Evidence”.Professor Wu's research areas include the optimal design of agri-environmental policy, the spatial modeling of land use change and its impacts on economic and environmental systems, and the analysis of rural-urban interdependencies and causes of spatial variations in economic development. Professor Wu has received several awards for quality research, including the Quality of Research Discovery Award from the American Agricultural Economics Association and the Outstanding Published Research Awards from the Western Agricultural Economics Association. He served as an associate editor of American Journal of Agricultural Economics and is a member of the editorial council for several professional journals, including Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Land Economics, and Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics.
