2012 CCAP Academic Advisory Committee Meeting Successfully Held in Brazil
    On August18th, 2012, admist the 28th International Association of Agricultural Economists (IAAE) 2012 Conference, the 2012 meeting of the CCAP Academic Advisory Committee (AAC) was held in Rafrain Palace, Foz do Iguacu, Brazil. Ten members of the AAC from both domestic and foreign universities and research institutions in six countries attended this meeting to brainstorm the future development of CCAP along with sixteen faculty and graduate students of CCAP. The meeting clearly demonstrated CCAP’s achievements and development since the last AAC meeting in 2009 during the 27th IAAE conference in Beijing.
    The meeting was chaired by the chairman of the Committee, Professor Scott Rozelle of Stanford University. Professor Rozelle extended welcomes to AAC members attended the meeting, and expressed hopes that this meeting will provide some constructive ideas to promote the further development of CCAP. Professor Jikun Huang, director of CCAP, and Professor Linxiu Zhang and Professor Jinxia Wang, two  deputy directors of CCAP jointly introduced to the attendees the latest progress of CCAP’s four core policy research programs.
    During the meeting, the AAC members discussed the key research areas of CCAP, suggesting ways to extend cooperation with other research institutions around the world to promote the further development of agricultural economics, and help formulate practical and feasible policies for the development and modernization of not only rural China, but also other developing countries. Professor Jikun Huang summed up the meeting and expressed gratitude for AAC members’ constructive suggestions and comments which played a significant think-tank role in CCAP’s future work and development.
