The kick-off meeting of IDRC Project was held in Beijing
    On October 24, 2012, the kick-off meeting of IDRC project on “Water Resources and Adaptation to Climate Change in the Vulnerable North China Plain and Poyang Lake Region” was held in Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (IGSNRR), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). The Center for Chinese Agricultural Policy (CCAP), IGSNRR of CAS leads this project. CCAP, IGSNRR and the other three institutions, including Jiangxi Agricultural University (JAU), Henan Agricultural University (HAU), and North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power (NCIWCHP) will implement this project in 2012-2015.
    Prof. Jikun Huang, director and professor of CCAP as well as professor of IGSNRR, is the project leader. During the meeting, he gave a brief introduction of this project. The overall goals of the project are to improve adaptation strategies by conducting rigorous economic analysis and exploring appropriate technologies, policy and institutional arrangements, and investment options (TPI) to address immediate challenges as well as those posed by longer term climate variability and change in water and water related sectors in two of the most vulnerable regions in China, NCP and PLR.
    Prof. Jinxia Wang, deputy director and professor of CCAP, Prof. Jun Yang of CCAP, Prof. Henyun Ma of HAU, Prof. Zhaojiu Chen of JAU, Prof. Chenguang Xu of NCIWCHP as well as Ph.D and master students participated in the meeting. During the meeting, participants discussed the research progress and future survey plan for the project.
