Dr. Chengfang Liu presented at the 22nd International Association For Feminist Economics (IAFFE) Annual Conference in the U.S.A.

During 11-14 of July, 2013, Dr. Chengfang Liu attended the 22nd International Association For Feminist Economics (IAFFE) Annual Conference at Stanford University, U.S.A.. During the conference, Dr. Liu presented at two sessions and attended one round table discussion. At the session about “The Primacy of Gender in Primary Education,” she introduced the academic achievement gap between Han and ethnic minority students in rural China and its determinants. Then at the joint session about “How and Why do Women’s Needs and Rights Get Short-Changed in the Development Process in China and India and What Can be Done about it?” she discussed the uptake and correlates of maternal health services in poor rural areas of China. Lastly at the round table between delegates from both China and India, Chengfang discussed potentials for collaborations between researchers from these two countries in the field of rural health and its impacts.
