Prof. Jinxia Wang and Dr. Lingling Hou Attends “Adapting to Climate Change and Water Security in Asia” Conference

During 18th to 20th June, 2013, Prof. Jinxia Wang and Dr. Lingling Hou attend the international conference titled “Adapting to Climate Change and Water Security in Asia”, held by International Development Research Center (IDRC) in Canada and the South Asia Consortium for Interdisciplinary Water Resources Studies (SaciWATERs). Researchers of 20 projects funded by IDRC and SaciWATERs from South Asia, Southeast Asia and China participate the conference.Prof. Jinxia Wang presents their research on “Water Resources and Adaptation to Climate Change in North China Plain and Poyang Lake Region in China”. She described the impacts of climate change, especially extreme weather events, on agricultural production in North China Plain and Poyang Lake Region of China, and focused on the quantitative results on the determinants of farmers’ perception of and adaption measures to climate change. Policy implications are presented and active discussion with the audience ends her talk.
During the roundtable section, Prof. Wang introduces the detailed methodologies on how to conduct economic analysis of climate change based on CCAP knowledge and experiences, which attract the audience a lot.
